Ancient Paths. In Jeremiah 6:16, the prophet uses a vivid image that captures our imagination: an ancient path. Israel had forsaken God and Jeremiah was calling the nation to return back to the path God had laid out for them. Today, this verse calls us to evaluate our way of life and where it is leading us. There are many paths to travel, but only one leads to life.

I AM: Jesus in His Own Words – I AM the Way, the Truth, and the Life. The second miracle recorded in the Gospel of John is the healing of the royal officials’ son. The official believed the word of Jesus—and that belief changed everything. At the heart of our faith is trusting what Jesus says, but genuine faith doesn’t stop with belief; it leads to action. When we truly believe Jesus, our faith should be visible in the way we live. Faith in Jesus is meant to be faith in action.

This is what the Lord says:

‘Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls. But you said, ‘We will not walk in it.’

(Jeremiah 6:16, NIV)

In the early ’60s, the Assemblies of God church of Canoga Park planted a new church in Simi Valley. The gatherings were held in a home on the east end of the valley until the house-church purchased the property at 171 Royal Avenue. Over the decades we have seen God move in powerful ways, transform lives, and the future looks bright!

We are taking intentional steps to meet the needs of a post-Christian world that is embedded in a postmodern cultural context. We believe the Gospel is “the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes” and are committed to living for Jesus in a secular world while loving people with the love of Christ (Romans 1:16).
