Latest Sermon

Family Sunday: The Electric Pickle and the Battle Within. Just like there are positive and negative charges in electricity that will make a pickle fry, according to Galatians 5:17-21 there are also positive and negative charges in our spiritual walk. When we become Christians, the Holy Spirit produces “positive charges” in our life known as the fruit of the Spirit.

Verse of the week

But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things.(Galatians 5:22-23, NLT).

The Holy Spirit wants to change our lives for the better, but if we decide to allow the attributes of our sin nature (Galatians 5:19-21) to dominate our thinking and behavior, we’re setting ourselves up for misery and a big loss.

When we submit our lives to Jesus, the Holy Spirit will produce “positive charges” in our life known as the fruit of the Spirit. They are the by-products of allowing Jesus to be the Commander and Chief of our heart.

Our Story

In the early ’60s, the Assemblies of God church of Canoga Park planted a new church in Simi Valley. The gatherings were held in a home on the east end of the valley until the house-church purchased the property at 171 Royal Avenue. Over the decades we have seen God move in powerful ways, transform lives, and the future looks bright!

Where we’re going

We are taking intentional steps to meet the needs of a post-Christian world that is embedded in a postmodern cultural context. We believe the Gospel is “the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes” and are committed to living for Jesus in a secular world while loving people with the love of Christ (Romans 1:16).
